The Future of Starkville is in Your Hands.
For years, the City of Starkville has maintained a citywide ordinance which prohibits the sale of alcohol on Sundays.  That law keeps many local restaurants closed on Sundays, limiting weekend dining options.

It also tells business owners who consider locating in Starkville that we are not a pro-business community.  That is not the message that we want to send.

It is time to bring our laws into the 21st century and allow our city to live up to its full potential.

Discussion has already begun on this important issue with a town hall meeting held on May 1 at the Greensboro Center.  Though a large number of citizens are in favor of Sunday sales, there has been no organized effort to bring supporters' views to our city aldermen.  Until now.

The purpose of this website is to facilitate a citizen action network, allowing hundreds of residents already in favor of Sunday sales to quickly and easily make our voices heard.

More Than Just A Beer On Sunday
Sunday alcohol sales in the city of Starkville is certainly about personal choice and freedom to engage in a legal activity, but there really is much more to it.  Take a look around the site to learn more about the opposition and the facts; then, most importantly, take action.  Let your alderman know how you feel--right now, from this website

With your help, this law will change.  It only takes a few seconds to send a message to your alderman and tell him or her to support our community, and allow Sunday sales.

TAKE ACTION NOW!  It only takes a few seconds.
